My name is Anna, and this place you now know as our hostal was born long before it had a name. It was born in 1998, when my husband and I decided to build our first cabin on the land I inherited from my parents—children of German immigrants who came to the south of Chile seeking a peaceful life, surrounded by nature and honest work. It all began with a simple dream: to create a warm and welcoming place for others.

For many years, I traveled around the world, discovering the magic of hostels and the way they bring people together. We didn’t have many resources, but we had something much stronger: a deep conviction to create a space where people would feel at home. Every wooden plank, every window, and every small detail was built with our own hands, often after long days of work. It was more than a construction project; it was our way of life.

Ten years later, in 2008, we realized the hostal needed to grow—not to become bigger, but to become better. We carried out our first expansion, reorganized the spaces, and began welcoming travelers who returned time and time again, no longer just as guests, but as part of our story. Every guest became part of our extended hostel family.

Then came the pandemic. A difficult time for everyone, but also a moment for reflection. In the middle of uncertainty, we made our most important decision: a second and final expansion. We wanted to be better prepared, to care more deeply, and to offer a warmer experience to those who trusted us. In 2021, the hostal took the shape you see today—more rooms, greater comfort, and the same spirit as always.

If there is something that truly represents me, it is the kitchen. I inherited my love for baking from my family, and no farewell is complete without my homemade raspberry kuchen, prepared especially to thank those who chose to stay with us. It’s my simple way of saying: thank you for trusting us, thank you for coming back, and thank you for recommending us.

Today, looking back, I know this place is more than just accommodation. It is a story of effort, family, and genuine care for every person who walks through our door.
